There is a ton of play value here with this plastic kitchen toy set. My 3 and 5-year-old daughters were suuuuuper excited to open this and play with it. It not only has a bajillion little food and kitchen things, it also makes noises and has a working water pump for the sink.Some assembly will be required and no instructions are included, so save the box. The only tricky part is the sink pump. You’ll need to find the base piece and a loose orange straw to attach to the tube that’s already in the white faucet piece. Slot them all in and put some water in the “sink” — pump it and it works!Stickers have to be applied too, which may be a plus or minus. My 5-year-old was excited to do it then got frustrated trying to line them up perfectly and left it to me.The sound and lights for the “burners” requires 2 1.5V AA batteries. Not included, although helpfully it did include a small screwdriver which you will need to open the compartment for them. Be sure to grab that little eye-gouger immediately after opening the box!My daughters were hoping the scale was right for 18” dolls like American Girl dolls. Indeed it does seem to work (see photo). Yay! Now the dolls can make and eat meals with such items as “box of kiwi fruit”!All in all, between the sounds, lights, water pump and bajillion little food items, this seems like a good bang for the buck. I don’t expect it to be super durable, so maybe avoid giving it to toddlers. But for 3 and older it looks like a winner.
